Puppy Training Classes
COME AND JOIN IN THE FUN!
a positive, science-led start for your puppy
The first few months of your puppy's life are an incredibly important time for learning, development and building positive associations with the world around them.
My 4 week puppy training course in Cambridge is designed to give you and your puppy the foundations you need for a happy, confident and peaceful life together. It's also a fun-filled course with lots of laughs along the way!
With over 20 years experience teaching puppies and their families, alongside my academic qualifications in canine behaviour and training, I've brought together the practical expertise and scientific understanding that I believe make puppy training both effective and enjoyable.
The course is science-led, evidence-based, with a strong focus on helping you to understand how puppies learn, communicate and develop. Rather than simply teaching your puppy a list of behaviours, we'll also be working on the underlying skills that help them navigate everyday life with confidence and resilience.
And, of course, we'll have lots of fun throughout!

small class, big focus
Classes are limited to around four puppies.
Keeping the group small means I can provide plenty of individual guidance and adapt exercises to suit each puppy, whilst also creating a calm, supportive environment where puppies can learn without becoming overwhelmed.
This allows us to balance learning, dog socialisation and appropriate exposure to new experiences, whilst respecting the fact that every puppy develops at their own pace.
what will we cover?
Throughout the four weeks, we'll introduce a range of foundation skills and practical behaviours that you can begin using straight away.
These include:
-
Focus and attention
-
Settling and relaxation
-
Disengagement and neutrality
-
Loose-lead walking foundations
-
Recall foundations
-
Early impulse control and frustration tolerance
-
Confidence and resilience building
-
Proximity and connection
-
Calmness around distractions
-
Practical foundations for everyday life
-
Theory-based work including discussions surrounding puppy play biting, toilet training and habit-building at home.
We'll not only look at WHAT to teach, but also how puppies learn and why certain training approaches work (and why others don't!). My aim is to give you practical tools that you can continue to develop long after the course has finished.
Who can join?
Classes are open to all puppies who have completed their vaccination course and are 5 months old or younger at the start of the course.
No previous training experience is required, just you, your puppy and a heap of enthusiasm!
