About Me

Hello! My name is Gail, nice to meet you!

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour plus an MSc, meaning I am one of the few dog trainers in the region to hold advanced academic qualifications in canine science and behaviour. I also hold an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management, alongside a Diploma in Feline Behaviour and Psychology. Phew! This ultimately means I possess a very strong theoretical understanding of dog behaviour enabling far more insight into potential training and behaviour needs. I continue to develop my professional knowledge through ongoing specialist training, ensuring my approach remains current, evidence-based, and well-rounded.

My academic qualifications I gained through Anglia Ruskin University with further study via smaller but well-respected organisations such as Compass Education and Training, The School of Canine Science, and COAPE. I have also explored a range of practical approaches, including TTouch and Companion Dog Training, allowing me to combine academic understanding with real-world application in my work with puppies and their owners.

Alongside my professional practice, I have been invited to guest lecture for final-year undergraduate students on canine learning theory and its application in practice. My work has also been published in The Week Junior Science + Nature Magazine, and I have delivered talks for the Villiers Park Education Trust, sharing both my academic journey and professional experience in animal behaviour.

Alongside my work in canine behaviour, I am also a registered Occupational Therapist (HCPC). This has informed much of my approach, particularly in terms of structure, goal setting, and individualised support. It has also enabled me to deliver Pets As Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy sessions in hospitals, schools and learning disability day centres, where the calming and grounding effects of animals can be clearly seen.

If you would like to arrange a 1-2-1 puppy training session in Cambridge or simply have a question, you are very welcome to get in touch. I’m always happy to talk all things puppies!
